Hip-hop is fast becoming the most popular form of music in world today. Unfortunately there are very few good hip-hop artists or groups out there with a rich culture and diverse background. Amplifyd is not one of them. Amplifyd comprises 4 artists with different talents but one goal, to make good hip-hop music for people of all works of life to be able to listen to while stressing their rich culture in their music.
Biola Pedro a.k.a. "Young B-Eazy" stands as the strong root of Amplifyd. Yung-B was born and bred in Lagos , but his lyrics connect with different people on different levels, "I try to appeal to all sorts of people," he said. "We may be different people going through different things, but sometimes one voice is capable of unifying these differences under one umbrella. Confident but humble, B-eazy, popularly known as "Young B", is relatively new to rapping, but considers himself a veteran lyricist. “B-Eazy” features on all the tracks on the Amplifyd Mixtape Volume I and II.
If Young B is the strong root of Amplifyd, there is no question who the backbone the group is; Muyiwa Olorunfemi, a.k.a. "Myth", is arguably the hottest lyricist out of Nigeria in recent times. His philosophy is simple; Rhyme right and make sense. "Rhyming is eazy, but making sense with your rhymes is what counts” Muyiwa says. That's what most artists fail to realize. An artist's material needs to have substance..." Muyiwa began rapping at age 12. He entered many local hip-hop tournaments in Lagos and by the age of 18, he was well known for his metaphors and ridiculous armory of punch lines. "I take pride in being a pound-for-pound artist", Muyiwa said, "but I'm also proud of the fact that I've found ways to include my personal life in my verses..." As a rapper/songwriter/producer, "Myth" has taken the art of music-making to another level. Watch out for this rising star under the Amplifyd emblem.
A talented DJ and producer; TnT is well known all across DC and Maryland . TnT has undoubtedly raised the bar for Nigerian producers. "I've got an unsettled mind and an eye for success," TnT said. "I started out freestyling in Lagos when rapping wasn't cool..." TnT stepped out of freestyling as soon as he realized it became an all-too common thing. Led by his brother DJ "Cue Control", "TnT" set his sights on being the most acclaimed Nigerian disc jockey as soon as he set foot into America ; "Instincts led me straight to the turntables, at
a time when DJs got no love from party-goers," he added. "Today, everyone wants be a DJ. I feel like i'm setting the standards for everyone. Amplifyd is the next bar; I just don't know how many cats would top that...” Born Temie Olley, TnT has developed his producing skills to create a multidimensional arena for Amplifyd by mixing contrasting genres like hip-hop music with Afro-Juju... TnT produced hit songs like "Shakara" and “naija girls”. He is also a talented singer and is featured in songs like “Je ka Jo” and “naija girls”.
Titi Williams-Davies completes the core of Amplifyd artists. Known simply as "Titi" a.k.a. "First Lady of Amplifyd", she's taking R&B singing to another level. Titi has the voice of an angel and the heart of a winner. Her dedication to singing can be matched only by her beauty. It is without a doubt that this newest member of Amplifyd will be one of the brightest spots of the group. Among other tracks, Titi features in the popular hits, "Shakara", "Who We Are" and the recently produced song "Brand New Day", along with Myth and Young B.
